About
A few stories.
Thomas William Amphlett. Websites and custom apps for local businesses and online brands. Not a resume — the parts that changed how I take on work.
Biggest challenge
Cutting. People arrive with twelve pages, three slogans, and a form that goes nowhere. The hard part is taking things away until a stranger on a phone knows what to do. Then sitting with them while they miss the extra pages.
Greatest achievement
Not a prize. A shop that ran the week in a spreadsheet, then didn’t. The owner stopped sending me screenshots of Excel. They open one screen in the morning and the day is there. That’s the job.
A miss
I once built something clever. They didn’t use it. Now I build the smallest thing they will actually open on a Friday. If it needs a tutorial, it is still too big.
Why a short list
If I stack ten jobs, you wait, and the work gets thin. I take on a few projects at a time so I can answer the phone and change the thing in front of you. If I am full, I say so.
How I work
I got tired of decks. You can’t tap a slide. I design in the browser so you see the real site or app, not a picture of one. We change it until it sits right, then I hand you the logins.
